The popular British brand John Lewis turned to his archives to create four dresses in honor of the Festival Coronation Festival, taking place at Buckingham Palace and the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth II). Design of new products based on the outline and illustrations dating from 1953, in which there was a coronation.
"Participating in the festival is a great honor. To pay tribute to the rich heritage of John Lewis, we decided to search the archives for prints and patterns, popular in the year of the coronation of the Queen, and to recreate the four dresses, which perfectly blend with neighboring products of modern design, "- says the director of purchasing women's clothing at John Lewis Joe Hooper (Jo Hooper).
Four dresses - Audrey, Sylvia, Monica and Kay - will be presented at the show in the daytime entertainment program during the three-day festival. The show will be attended by other brands, including Hunter, Daks and Alice by Temperley.
Coronation Festival begins today, July 12, and will run until Sunday. Dresses from John Lewis will be on display in the store brand on Oxford Street from 15 to 19 July, along with original drawings in 1953.
