A Green Flag Community Award is a national award that recognizes quality green spaces that are managed by voluntary groups and community groups in the UK. The Award is part of the Green Flag Award, the national standard for quality parks and green spaces. The plan is to realize that all the green space is different so each site is critical, according to its own merits and its suitability to the community it serves.
Ian Olson, Coastal Facilities Officer is responsible for the site: "This award shows how the council, working collaboratively and in partnership with community groups, can improve facilities and have a positive impact the local area.
